I wake up from nightmares and they are still there (really).?
I wake up with a white imprint of the monster in my bedroom lunging at me until I can blink it away which can take anywhere from 1-10 minutes! During this time I am completely freaked out and unable to move at first.
I am under a lot of stress because of school and need some help as to how to stop this, this is the third tim eit has happened and I don't understand how or why? Thank you so much.
Answer:
I have had terrible death dreams and also dreams of something (monster like) being in the room with me too. This is extremely scary and unnerving so I know exactly how you feel. You know you are safe as you wake up and everything is ok so keep telling yourself this and try not to dwell on it. I find that if I force myself to wake up and actually get out of bed and go and sit somewhere else out of the room helps. Watch tv or read for awhile to get your mind off your bad experience. If you go back to sleep straight away after you wake up sometimes you go back into the nightmare. I would say that it has something to do with you being under a lot of stress as the sub-conscious has strange ways of coming to "haunt" you at night. Maybe yoga or a brisk walk would help each day. I have the same problem so can empathise with you but please don't worry too much it is only a dream (or nightmare in our case) but that's all it is and it cannot harm you! Sweet dreams!
Try to relax and not think about school. Workingout takes alot of stress of the body because you focus more on the workout than what your dealing with in your life. Yoga also does the same thing.
