If a woman has "mild" bipolar disorder- cyclothymia- how might this disorder effect a relationship w/her?

That is, does a person with this disorder usually exhibit symptoms/patterns/effects of it in relationships, and, if so, what are they?...(i.e. mood swings, happy with relationship then not for no apparent reason, etc)..

Just curious, as I do not know much at all about the subject- and Id rather not go online to a data site regarding the disorder yet...Id rather ask actual people who might know...

Answer:
there are a number of disorders that have this as a symptom. one being bipolar another being borderline personality disorder. I have both, I can be like that but knowing what is one disorder and what is the other can be very hard. there is a site that can give it you very simple and brakes it down so not to overwhelming, not to every last detail but easy jargon free stuff the link is below. A person with ever of the disorders I mentioned can lead a very good and product life. I am glad you care enough about her to ask this question and I am sure she will be OK if getting the right help that is needed with any kind of mental health illness. take care
Yes, I am bipolar and she may have mood swings, one minute want to kick your a** the next want to jump your bones. Maybe not so bad if its mild though
people with bi-polar disorder have manic and depressive states. when they are manic they think that they are on top of the world, and can do anything they want...when they are depressed they hit rock bottom. However, if she is medicated properly and stay on their medications as well as continue with professional help they can function as normally as anyone else. the only disabler with that is sometimes medications stop working so they need to be tweeked, and bi-polar people can often stop taking their medications because they feel it straight jackets them, meaning they cant feel up or down.
good luck!
I think you should find a mentally healthy, stable woman if you're looking for a relationship. A mentally ill woman is not a good bet for a happy, balanced life or someone to consider the mother of your children.
