Will i ever be the same person i use to be after going through depression?

Answer:
No.but that may be the beauty of a hard time--change and experience that makes us better people. I am so much more appreciative of my good days, of my health, of all the things I love and feel and enjoy. This is all because there was a time I never thought I'd ever enjoy or love anything ever again. I felt trapped and depressed. Now that, that phase of my life seems to be over and I have a healthier life I am glad that my life changed. I've heard it said that a mental breakdown is really a mental break-THROUGH. Well, with depression it is true too. I had to caccooon and turn off my brain and my emotions for a while. I had to just be so inward until my life made sense. When I was done caccooning I was ready to feel again and love again and be ME again.

Don't give up. You will have more insight after your caccooning season is over. Be kind to yourself. Let yourself be alone and quiet and sleepy and uninterested for a while until you figure it out. Then you will be whole again--and very much CHANGED!
well, it really depends. if something occurs again, i'm sure you'll be able to get over it a lot easier than maybe other people would. and of course, if you just try not to remember going through depression, i guess you could go back to the way you were..
Well, are we ever the same person after going through anything traumatic? I'd say probably not. However, you'll be similar to your old self shortly after beginning treatment. Hang in there. It'll all work out in the end.
it really depends on u. r u ready to accept what happened? if ur life b4 was perfect, and u want it back, nothing will change and everything will be the same. but if u want to start a new life, or better one, then u will c things differently than b4 and things will be different than ur life once was. so u have to make the decision. and dont worry about the whole depression thing. lots of ppl go through things like that. so i hope ur life is a gr8 1. make ur dreams come true and enjoy life as it comes. good luck w/ ur life.
actually,it should make you a better person because you'll see the world differently and things should have greater meaning to you and when you find happiness, you'll know it's real. After all, without the darkness, there is no light.
Probably not.
never... hopefully for the better...
Yes, it takes awhile....but...you are apparently doing better and you have probably come out of it a much more in tune, wiser individual. I bet you know more about yourself now than you ever did. Depression is rough, I don't wish it on anyone. I am semi-disabled and I do have my days but then I remember there are other people in this world that has it a whole lot worse than I do. Take care!
We all change from our experiences. It's not a bad thing. If "be the same person" you mean who will you be at your core - yes. The core of who you are doesn't change. If in your core you are an artistic person, or a person who values family or honesty etc, you will still be that person.
depends on how old you are. you may grow through the experience and become a better stronger person.
