What do you do when every area of your life is falling apart...?
Please help me.
Thank you in advance everyone.
Answer:
i am sorry you are going through this. let me say that i am bi-polar as well, but it cost me over $ 70,000.00 in debt, i have been on 35 different meds and inpatient 10 times, had ect, i have done everything researched every so called cure or new drug, and the only thing that helps is....me...my thinking, i have learned to change my thought patterns and experience life. i thought i had it bad i had hives for 2 years due to an unkown food allergy, lost my job becasue of it constent itching, and pressure urticaria. so... this is what i would do if i were you. your edema could be caused by different things. tooo much salt (fast-food), or an underlying heart, liver or kidney problem. there are meds available. do you see a doctor, or go to the health dept for free. talk to your family, get support change your diet. if you go to school talk to a advisor get information/help community support go to the hospital ask if they have programs or people to help you or call the drug companies some will give you free meds. there are all kinds of things you can do to help yourself. the main thing is to see a doctor, apply for free health care in your area. i have been in your shoes..kind of, but learn this well..you are the captain off your ship, dont let bi-polar rule your life. go visit a children's cancer center or va hospital it will make your problems seem small in comparison, but they are your problems and i know they are hard for you, but you can overcome it!!! pray, go to church, do whatever it takes for you to feel better..good luck let me know how you make out.
sounds like a really tough situation...i can't imagine it so its hard to hand out advice. there are support groups though and hotlines. good luck.
I would go to a physician and have tests done to see what's going on physically that might be affecting you. BLoodwork and urinalysis would tell him a lot. Then he might recommend a psychiatrist or therapist who would be able to help you.
Since I am a Christian, I would also pray. Do you have friends whom you might talk to?
I wish you well.
First thing I would do is to get counseling so I can talk to someone who will understand my problems. Secondly, I would take up meditation or some sort of relaxation technique to get a better handle on my emotions. Following these two things would hopefully lead me to living a more fulfilling life. Then again, it is easier to theorize of these things than actually living with them.
I'm so sorry you are going through all this - so much to take in. Have you considered a support group? Would be easier to find people who are going through similar things...better yet, have already gone through them and gone on to thrive. There are a number of groups listed online. Also you can talk w/you doctor for a referral to a support group in your area.
Here's one location that lists out local support groups

I noticed that you are labled "top contributor". You should be proud of that as the rest of us admire you. When I am down, I try to look at my accomplishments instead of my downfalls. Just like Scarlett said in Gone With the Wind, "tomorrow is another day"...
Peace,
Don't look back or you'll trip over moving forward
Calm down, take a long hot bubble bath. Then go talk to a therapist. I know being bipolar isn't helping, because people seem to think you don't know whats really going on. So PLEASE go talk to someone. Good Luck I will pray for you.
There are two things that I do/have done. The treatment to your problem is three-fold...physical, mental, and psychiatric. You really can't ignore one without the other.
The first thing I'd do is see a physician about your physical problems. I can relate to those. I have a killer illness that has spread into my brain, so I can relate to the physical. Then, I would follow up with a psychiatrist and a therapist. So what do you do in the meantime? Well, if you click on my profile, you'll find my e-mail and IM address and I am on often as my g/f and I made a conscious decision that she would go out and work while I stayed on disability and helped others on ByeDr.coms through my experience, strength, and hope. Go ahead and talk to me. I don't bite - hard (lol)!
