make your mom realize that you're serious about it. she probably thinks you're exaggerating. if that doesn't help, talk to a school counselor, a friend, or another adult that you can confide in. don't give up hope.
Are you a teenager? She probably just thinks you are being dramatic. Talk to a counsellor. Visit a teen health clinic. You don't need your mothers permission to seek help.
I totally have the same problem so I can understand you very well.I wish I knew the answer of your question :(
this is a great website and you can find a lot of help.

Look I'm going through what you are i know i even talk to a consular an that don't help they even tried to put me in a mental hospital just cause i thought of suicide. Well killing yourself is not the answer. You just feel this way like nothing will get better what helps me is talking to my friends about things even thought they sometimes don't understand it just helps to get it off your chest and maybe sometimes you just need Little time alone and justt to clear your head it helps to cry and get all your crying done but then your mad and if you get mad enough to hit things hit your pillow and jus talk to your friends an if you need some one to talk to I'm here for you

Perhaps your mom has a problem. Get medical help fast, this is no laughing matter at all. Call a hotline or your doctor.
Your mom might have laughed when you told her for a few reasons. 1) because she might not know how to handle your situation and is trying to bring some smiles and alieviation, and 2) she may have been one day where you are now and has some interesting insights. Still, if you are sad, it's no laughing matter.
The answer to this will depend a lot on your age and situation, but it never hurts to still look for help. If you're a teen and in school or if you're in college, you can talk to school counselors. If you are older, a young adult in early or late 20's, then you need to consider if you've had these feelings before, and if this is another "episode". There are still help lines and consultations you can have where a specialist, a counselor or psycologist, can give you some advice on moving forward.
Especially in adolesence, everyone goes through feelings of depression, which are mostly hormonal and stressful. Most times periods of depression will end if you make some positive changes in your life, but if your depression has gone on for a month or more, or if you remember other times in your life where you may have gone through similar "episodes" such as this, you should at least consult someone.
Above all, if it has hurt your feelings or made you concerned that your mom laughed when you told her, I'm sure it was not at you. You should tell her again, but ask ahead of time if she could have a heart to heart talk with you about what you're feeling. This may put her in a different frame of mind to listen and help you. She can also help you find solutions, like activities or hobbies that might bring you some happiness or help you discover what's really bothering you deep down, if it's anything in particular at all.
I think I can help. Email me ok?

Tell someone else! If the next person doesn't take you seriously, tell someone else. Don't give up until someone believes you!
And don't kill yourself... Jesus made you in his own immage and somewhere there is someone who thinks the world of you!
