Withdrawal symptoms of Effexor XR..?

Does anyone know of anything out there to stop the "brain shocks" or at least help with them. I have been off of it for a little over a week and that seems to be my worst symptom yet. I can deal with the headaches, nausea, hypomania, and all of the other good things, but these are crazy. I sure wish the Dr had showed me side effects of getting off meds before he had me start.

Answer:
I was very shaky, nausea, and dizzy. I looked like I was suffering from parkinson's. The only way I know to get over the withdrawls is time. I'm so sorry!
Typical withdrawal symptoms:
- intense insomnia
- extraordinarily vivid dreams
- extreme confusion during waking hours
- intense fear of losing your sanity
-steady feeling of existing outside of reality as you know it (referred to as depersonalization at times)
-memory and concentration problems
- Panic Attacks (even if you never had one before)
- severe mood swings, esp. heightened irritability / anger.
- suicidal thoughts (in extreme cases)
- an unconventional dizziness/ vertigo
- the feeling of shocks, similar to mild electric one, running the length of your body and brain
- an unsteady gait
- slurred speech
- headaches
- profuse sweating, esp. at night
- muscle cramps
- blurred vision
- breaking out in tears.
- hypersensitivity to motion, sounds, smells.
- decreased appetite
- nausea
- abdominal cramping, diarrhea
- loss of appetite
- chills/ hot flashes
A low dose of Prozac for a while helps and then you can get off the Prozac without much difficulty. Good luck.
