I'm in great depression,no job, feeling very thin and feeling ashamed of not getting job?

Answer:
When I became very ill with depression I lost my job. No one understood what I was going through (I didn't understand it myself). I remember sitting at home crying and feeling worthless. I remember saying over and over "what am I going to do". I remember thinking that my life was over. I had no ability to look for a job because the depression had practically paralyzed me. My story about my downward spiral can be found on Yahoo search under "The Last Temptation of George Petrie". If you have a chance read it and see how bad things got for me because I refused to take medication. Finally, after being hospitalized, I decided to give the medication a try. Within two weeks I felt stronger and was able to fight my case all the way to the Florida Supreme Court and I won. I also found a job and ended up more successful than I ever thought possible. I wish I had more understanding of depression and that it is not a sign of weakness. It is a result of brain chemistry, much the same as any physical illness is the result of organic chemistry. Please don't give up on yourself. Get some help, contact your local mental health society if you don't have a personal physician. My best wishes to you...
There is absolutely no need 2 b ashamed of being jobless. Pl ccorrect ur concepts about practicalities of life. It is just a question of getting a right job in a matter of time.
If u r really feeling so down that life seems 2 b worthless, pl see a psychiatrist sooner rather than later. However, I m sure it is the usual sort of depression which comes about when u r jobless. It would vanish the moment u get a job.
See depression treatments, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris... on page 2. Eat healthily; keep looking for work: use the internet, employment agencies, the newspapers; try hotels, restaurants, local businesses, and ask friends and relatives to inquire, on your behalf. Consider doing volunteer work (even from home), to get you into the work habit. Employers often give preference to such people.
Hah , The village people sorted ur problem out long long ago , YMCA is the answer . :-)

Seriously , u've identified the answer in ur question ;here's what to do :-

1- Get a job , anything to start , and move up from there.

2- Call / visit ur family more often .

3-Exercise moderately / eat as healthy as possible.

4- Find a "good" friend or two .

5-Approach God "if u're the religous kind".
Go get a job --- look where the business is hiring. Burger King-- Wendys- just get hired and go to work
Please don't feel depressed. Maybe you could get a temporary job as a receptionist or something?
Think about it this way - at least you're not gaining weight crazily like me. At this point, I'm almost ready to do anything to be stick-thin.
