Is this normal?!?!?

for the past 5 months or so, I've been using 20 pound dumbells to build strength for basketball. Every once in a while a painful lump would appear in my left wrist and disappear after a week. What is the lump and is it normal?

Answer:
It sounds like a ganglion cyst. I have had several of them. Generally, they are pretty harmless, and frequently go away after awhile. I am not sure what causes them, perhaps repetitive injury or trauma, as in your case weightlifting, mine was probably too much computer use. They are pretty harmless, though annoying and occasionally painful
Not normal! You might have strained/ inflamed something, but speculating on it will not treat the problem. Go to the doctor before you ruin your season with a wrist injury you got in July.
