when your body tries to expel them, then a large item is trying to get squeezed through a small tube- . they also cause spasms in the renal tubes.
I have had kidney stones twice... for me, the worst part was when you first started to feel the pain... while your kidneys are trying to pass them. I have had women tell me that kidney stones are more painful than giving birth!
Drink lots of water for the rest of your life and avoid cranberry juice because it is high in Calcium. (Cranberry juice is good for urinary tract infections, but not for kidney stones because of the high levels of calcium in the juice).
Passing them, I thought I was going to pass out from the pain
Passing them. That is why I tell my husband to not go to the doctor when he is in severe pain because that is when it is passing and when he goes to the restroom he needs to use a paint sifter and if the stone is not there and the pain is still severe to then go to the doctor because it may be having trouble passing.
I think passing one is the worst part of it, I hear of people getting fever and being bed riden while on a crisis.

The whole thing is awful but passing is the worst.
passing them is the most painful part, but my friend had three and she passed two without even knowing it. Soi guess it's only painful for some people.
