How come when i get up from sitting down i get dizzy?
Answer:
More than likely you have a problem with your orthostatic blood pressure. Sometimes your blood pressure can differ in different positions, i.e., from sitting to standing up. The dizziness is caused by a sudden drop in your blood pressure. There can also be other causes, such as a heart problem. You really should see a doctor to have orthostatics performed as well as other diagnostics.
It's called a head rush man, it's nothing to worry about, I get them all the time. You're getting up too fast so your body gets confused. Also, drink some more water just inm case.
try getting up slowly. Too fast can cause a change in your equilibrium. Like when you first get off a roller coaster or merry-go-round
Make it a practice when getting ready to stand, not to walk for a few seconds, letting the blood circulate first. Also, check it out with your doc.
sounds like a BP problem
hmm. happens to me too, but i dont worry about it.
orthostatic hypotension. (low blood pressure thing)
i have the same thing..and i talked to my dr about it..thats what she said i have.
when you're sitting, standing, laying down you have different blood pressures, and when you stand from a different position you brain hasn't had time to get enough oxygen and thats why this happens.
look it up and read about it. talk to your dr about it and have him/her perform blood pressure tests while standing, sitting and laying down to be sure this is what you have.
in the mean time just stand up slower, take deep breaths before you stand and while you're standing..that should mos def help reduce the dizzy. other than that you cant really do anything about it.
You could have very low blood pressure and if that's the case, then your body is probably also starving for oxygen...I would stop by your local Dr's office and ask the lady at the desk to have someone take your blood pressure...they won't charge just to do that, if it shows to be low, make an appt with your Dr...don't let stuff go...you are right to ask questions about it...we should all listen to our bodies...they tell us when things are out of kilter...now, go and have your blood pressure checked...if it proves to be normal, then ask the nurse why you might be having these new symptoms...
Good Luck!
Just either a head rush or you have low blood sugar caused by diabetes. So you may want to check if you got diabetes. How do I know? I get head rushes to once in a while.
