Getting wet could result in hypothermia, which could make you susceptible to other diseases. A simple raincoat and you're still fine to go.
Whether your employer allows you to go is up to your company policy.
NOBODY should be made to work in the rain.It could be a Health & Safety issue ie: slippery surfaces,causing falls(especially from roofs).See your union rep.
