Why does my neck tend to turn to the left?

My neck has a natural tendency to turn to the left. This seems to have developed over the last several weeks. I have full range of motion, but it takes more effort to turn it to the right. I have a sore sport at the base of the skull on the right side, which might be a trigger point. Would that cause this, or is it more something I should see a chiropractor for?

Answer:
That spot at the base of your skull is also attached to your jaw - have you been clenching/grinding your teeth? I have TMJ and other neck issues that my chiropractor treats and when that spot is tight and tender we know it's time to adjust the jaw.
