three months ago I fell straight onto my knees walking up some stairs. one patch , about 4x2 inches, next to my knee started to feel like a burn. it never looked like a bruse or anthing. a couple weeks later I noticed when went with my hand over that spot it felt numb. the doctor did a test on it with a sharp object and the lower layer of skin has feeling. the doctor said it would go away, but it didn't. the upper one never felt the same again. sometimes I still feel like a burst of fire is going through that patch and it feels hot. it does feel painful at times too. it is difficult to discribe it. I hope someone has an Idea what that could be. thanks
Answer:
Numbness, tingling, burning, hypersensitivity, etc. is what doctors call paresthesias and is the result of nerve damage.
Its most likely nerve damage. About 6 months ago, I slept badly on one of my shoulders and pulled the muscle in my back. A little while after it healed, I noticed that that part of my back is now numb. I can feel pressure and stuff, but I couldn't tell you what's touching it. So I asked my doctor and he said that it was nerve damage. Nothing that can be done about it and as long as I'm not in pain and I can use my arm, not to worry about it. I might get the feeling back eventually.
Go to the doctor!
maybe it is broken or you need surgery.
