Been on workmans comp since dec 06 for ruptured discs in my backhaving issues with my employer?

Been on wmc since dec 06 i had 3 ruptured discs in my back and when they got in there they found i had 6 inches of nerve damage. My doctor has written a work release for no lifting over 10 pounds and no repetitive motion. My employer called today and asked me if i could go come back to work because who they had is quiting well i tryed to explain that i cant work the cash register because that is repetitve motion i feel i am being forced by my employer to come back when there is nothing i can do there that is not repetitive motion but yet i dont want him to think im blowing them off what do i do because i think if i go back to work i will lose my workmans comp benifits. please give me some feed back

Answer:
I went through the exact same thing with my employer 2 years ago, they wanted me to return to work with a ruptured disc in my back, most likely your doctor placed you on "limited work status"allowing you to perform minor functions.what you need to do is see your doctor and explain your situation/pain and have him place you on "total temporary disability" until you feel you can return to work.
please don't go back to work and risk further damage to your back.Ive had surgery last year and have another one pending due to the amount of pain caused by ruptured discs.
Well you may need to consider a new career.
I know everyone wants to do as much as they can to get back to work, but if you can't even work a cash register then i think you may need to start looking again.
cashier is repetitive motion!!!=can't you just be in one place with that=I thought repetitive motion was when you had to move things from one spot to another all the time =sorry I don't get this-just my thoughts
do not make that mistake tell you employer you have a work
release. and say no more talk to a lawer and see what he says. you may get a settlement
