No sex for a while yes. You don't necessarily have to wait until they are healed. But if you do have sex before the ribs are healed, be very gentle and careful.
And usually broken ribs take about 6 weeks to heal.
healing depends on the individual and the source of the injury too. I have heard of people getting taped up and going on.
Glad I came across this question..I just heard on the Dr. Phil show today from a surgeon that if you have surgery or have to heal, if you eat pineapple it will speed your process faster in healing. Pineapple has a chemical in it that promotes healing. Hope this helps.
