To be absolutely sure, you need to go to your doctor ASAP so they can look and see what's going on. In the mean time you might go to your local pharmacy and get some ear wash, it will help dissolve any wax build up and hopefully help with some of the pain. To help with the pain, take 600 to 800mg Ibuprophen and put a warm rag or a heating pad on low on that ear and even behind your ear, it should help some. Best Wishes.
Sounds like a pimple. I've had a pimple in my left ear and unfortunately I kept picking at it and causing myself more problems in the long run. And it caused me pain every time I picked at it. I went to my dr to have them give me some antibiotics to clear up the redness from the pimple.
Please see your dr to have them evaluate this situation further.

An infection!go see a doctor!for the pain, try apple cider vinegar,first filter the vinegar with a coffee filter than putt a drop or two.Hope you feel better.
