Migraines in a 4 yr old?
Answer:
She might have allergies, they can cause headaches. I have migraines, they are terrible, your poor baby. My doctor recommended I keep a journal of my activities and what I ate for a while when I started getting them. This helped us discover I get them when I don't sleep long enough. There are so many causes for migraines and there are 2 major different kinds, so a journal of her behavior, activities and what she eats may help you and your doctor pinpoint the cause, in the case that they are migraines. Best wishes!
I would suggest that instead of a Neurologist checking her eyes take her to a pediactric ophthalmologist. Often neurologist only focus on the eyesight itself. There may be problems suchas intermitent esophoria or exophoria which would cause her to strain in keeping her eyes aligned. This causes major headaches for children and adults. Take pictures of her when she is not expecting it. You may get a picture of her eyes out of line, Unlike cross eyes this is hard to see for the untrained eye until it becomes extreme. The ophthalmologist will be the one to catch it.
I also might suggest the she has alllergies or hayfever since her symptoms started in the spring. Again the symptoms aren't always a runny nose. If her sinuses are effected she would only have a severe headache. I hope you and her the best
allergies and sinus infections can cause headaches, my husband got headaches all the time went to the doctor and got his head x rayed and he had a bad sinus infection
