What to do in the meentime...?

Alright I am a long distance runner, that is who I am (I am great at sprints, too, but like long distance because it is, well, long distance). I am training for high school cross country this summer and was going along with the plan until about two weeks ago when my legs begun to hurt really bad when I ran. So I started running on the grass and the pain didn't go away. It is in my calf, ankle, and knees. It is sharp, but yet dull at the same time. So I took a few days break before running again but the pain stayed. Today I went to the track and at about the 200 mark the pain started in my knees. At first small but by the 300 it was pretty bad and I couldn't run any farther than a 400. This totally kills me to not be able to run! I am pretty good withstanding pain but not this. I just can't. What can I do?

Answer:
GO TO THE DOCTOR AND STOP RUNNING! you could have done something really bad but if you don't find out and keep running you'll do more (and un-fixable) damage. DUH. don't be silly.
take the bus
I would go to the doctor, and don't run until you go to the doctor and are told what is wrong, and how to treat it.
2 weeks of rest and no running only walking(power type OK) and if it still is there go to an Orthopedic Specialist recommended by your coach.

Sounds like it is getting worse? Pain coming on with less running than when it first started? Running more now getting ready for the season. Felt in both legs equally. It could be overuse and needs rest or less intense running. But 200 yards is not much and needing to stop after going around the track two times can't be over use. Might be a ligament tear. But that is usually on one side, not both. And doesn't spread from calf to knee and ankle. Could be that you need shoe inserts. See a foot doctor first.
