It might be helpful if you're a doctor..How can I make my bones stronger?
I drink milk pretty often, but how much does that really help?
Is there some sort of frail-bone desease, or do you think i'm just clumsy?
I'm 14 years old and 85 lbs.
Answer:
milk yes, sunshine yes (vitamin D made in your skin when UV hits it) Vitamin D is essential for calcium to be absorbed from the food you eat. sports and physical exercise are great - these activities put stress on your bones which sends elaborate messages to your body to strengthen these bones - give your bones time to heal from your current injuries. weight training is good as well but you are a bit young to start - 16-17 is best and even then not really heavy stuff until you have finished growing.
good luck
hmm thats a lot of broken bones to be clumsy. Try taking some calcium supplements. they will help.you know it wouldn't hurt to ask the doctor about the frail bone disease.
got milk?Drink more.
you're very light if you're over 5"5, i would consume more calcium, and play sports especially. You might be too rough or be doing more dangerous stuff for your size. I'm 16, 6"2 and 180lbs. never broken a bone once.
Your idea of drinking milk pretty often might be far to little. Try 2-3 glasses a day.
edit: A common female disease in older women is osteopeosis which is a lack of Vitamin D? I think it's D, but it causes frail bones and you need to be outside in the sun more.
Milk really doesnt do much for your bones, thats all propoganda! But if you drink 3-5 cups of tea daily, it will increase bone strength!! This is a proven fact!
