Limited movement and pain in left arm any non-prescription treatment available?
The doctor is prescribing a steroid
Answer:
Any OTC meds will ease the pain, but it is only a temporary thing. The pain will increase with time, and eventually OTC meds won't help much. By then, the condition may degenerate to the point where Rx meds won't be very helpful, either.
Listen to your doctor.
Try glucosamine and condroiton. I'm not sure if I spelled those exactly right or not. There might be an h in condroiton. Look for a combination with MSM in it too. You should be able to find this in the vitamin aisle. It is supposed to help with arthritis. My husband takes it for gout and it helps. My aunt was talking about the MSM the other day and how it has helped her arthritis. You might also want to take coral calcium.
Yes this is Arthritis.
I understand your concerns about having steroids, it certainly won't be my choice.
Some people find that Glucosamine helps, but you have to take it for a few months before you feel any benefit.(available from health food stores).
