it sounds like it may very well be a nice case of conjunctivitis, aka our friend pinkeye. pinkeye can be caused by a bunch of things. try taking some benadryl. if it's an allergy caused pinkeye that will clear it up. if your eye continues to be swollen and/or painful, go see your dr.
i suspect it could be a little blessing, just the eyelid doing a temporary morph.
Maybe a stye. Try soaking it with a washcloth dipped in warm water and baking soda.
Someone I know was taking a pill for acne (don't know the name) and there eyelids did the same thing, although it wasn't listed as a side effect. With that, yes, it's possible it's an alergy to the meds.
It is probably an infection in one of your eyelash follicles. It might just disappear or it might come to a head and ooze a little pus. Bathe it gently with salt warer and clean cotton wool or gauze. Be careful not to toudch it then touch around your other eye as you can spread the infection. Sometimes this can be an allergic reaction to a new eyeliner.
It is not caused by spiders or flies.
Take some Benadryl...do you have any other symptoms but the one eye?
It could be a bite or an infection from make up or something else that got under your eyelid.
The Benadryl should help with itching or swelling. Try a cold compress on your eye, just splash water only on it for now.
If it's a spider bite take it seriously if it gets worse it can be dangerous and infectious to your bloodstream.
Don't rub it you will make it spread!
As gross as this is, is there "gunk" around it? I've had so many eye conditions (mostly due to contacts) but if you're not a contacts user, my best bet is pink eye. I had it a few weeks ago, and surprisingly my eye wasn't pink, didn't hurt, and didn't itch. I had none of the symptoms, except one of my eyes was swollen shut and had that gunk around it. Eye problems are nothing to fool around with. Go get it checked out asap!
