When trying to FALL ASLEEP my Heart Beats really really Fast...?

Ok.
So my mom past away about a year ago, I watched her die.
Since then I can't sleep.
When I do try to sleep my heart just starts beating really really fast.
I feel like I'm going to die, because I can't control it.

But during the day, I feel like its ok to take little naps. But at night I just can't sleep at all.
I keep my husband up when he has to get up early in the mornings.

So
I'm feeling very tired all the time.
My mood is HORRIBLE every day of the week.

I'm only 20 Yrs. Old.

My husband just added me on his insurance, so i can go to the doctor, when i get the insurance card in the mail, which should be in about a week.

But in the mean time, I was just wondering if anyone Knew any suggestions at
what this might be?

Thanks!

Answer:
It sounds like you're having Anxiety problems related to the trauma you'd experienced with your mother. First of all, I want to say I am so sorry you had to go through that. That is heart wrenching. I hope you seek out help with a therapist, because the anxiety may also be a result of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Go ahead and make an appointment NOW... you dont' need your insurance card to make the call. Good luck and email me anytime you need to talk.
Heart palpitations can be cause by stress (which sounds like a reason in your case,) caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, or some medications. If any of those are a problem, eliminate them.

If it is more serious, it could be an arrhythmia, which can be treated by medication, but needs to be diagnosed soon or it is life-threatening.

A thyroid disease could also be the problem. This could require surgery.

Good luck. ♥
