My boyfriend has THICK BROWNISH colored toe nails?
They're yellowish and brown. They're SO thick that when we went to get a pedicure they couldnt even cut them with clippers!! He actually uses WIRE cutters to clip them!
I keep telling him he HAS GOT to see a doctor...that its probably some kind of fungus...and he always says "i know i know, i will..." ... he is going for a physical on July 9th (Monday) and hes going to ask about it. In the mean time, WHAT THE HECK COULD THIS BE?? its SOOOOOOO gross!!

it is a fungus and the treatment is very expensive and can mess with your liver, most insurances don't cover it either...unfortunately i have learned to live with mine and i actually use a giant toe clippers and sand paper to keep then looking half way decent...there is a product called TINEACIDE anti fungal cream which if used twice a day religiously will help keep them easier to maintain...so basically if he can't afford approx. $600. per month and the blood work to go with it...you and he will just have to learn to live with it...by the way my foot doctor said the odds of you catching it from him are slim to none...my wife and i have been together 25 years and no prob

I say it is a fungus. Go to doctor and he can give you a medicine for it.
youre right its a fungus and easy to treat so let him go see a doctor.
