Doctor back up on surgery!?

I have some kind of form of blood clot in/ at my wrist. I cant move it at all because any movement it hurts. It has been like that for over two months now. So they finally came to the conclusion that they have to surgery. I was in a way glad because at atleast that would be a step in it getting better. Than they told me i have to wait over month for surgery because they are back up. Is there anything i can do? Could i do see another doctor? Would they have to start from the beginning or could i just bring or fax my med. records to the new doctor?

Answer:
Yes, you can just bring your medical chart and diagnostic testing to a new doctor (or they can get it directly from your first doctor). A one month delay sounds like a bit much to me, and you should definitely see someone else, even if it's just for a second opinion.
yes go to a real doctor, you can have your records transferred there.a blood clot can kill you any second.so do it real soon like today.
It's always a good idea to get a second opinion. Before you obtain your medical records ( the office will charge you a fee but, if they are faxed to another Doc then, most times, there is no cost 2 you ) , find another Doc.Then you'll need to sign a Medical Release ( Federal Law) in order for your records to be faxed. Of course, in the meantime, if your symptoms get worse, go the ER. Is the blood clot that is in your wrist area from an IV( Intervenous fluid ) ?? If so, applying heat to the area may give you relief. Have you been taking anything for the pain?? An anti-inflammatory ( Motrin, Advil, Ibuprofen)medicine that you are taking?? Do you have a fever, chills or sweats?? Is the area red, swollen or draining any fluid?? I hope that this helps and Good Luck.
Call your regular doctor and explain the situation to him and then ask for a second surgical opinion. You'll get in much faster if the appointment is made by another physician's office. Make sure you have all of your x-ray reports and lab work copied and sent over to your new doctor prior to your appointment so he has a chance to review the findings before he sees you. When there is a clot there's always a possibility of that clot breaking off and traveling to the heart or lungs and then you have more problems so don't put this off. Good luck.
