Im a smoker and ive always wondered this, What do cigarette filters filter? Obviously it keeps the tabacco in so your not constantly puttling pieces out of your mouth. What else does it filter? Does it take away any nicotine?

Did you ever notice that cigs come in lights, ultra lights..etc...the filter can actually make the cig lighter...and it generally makes the tobacco less harsh.
Not that it's any good for you or anything. I'm not going to be your critic. :)
