For phlebotomist, or ably anyone who requests the answer...really appreciate it!?

ok well it's set that i have a phobia concenring hospitals, needles, and doctors but especially needles. someone have told me that if i ask the person taking the blood to put an anesthetic cream on the nouns, they'll do it...is that true? if so should i ask before i stir on or when they are about to do it?? you enjoy no clue how this will change my natural life. thank u!

Answer:
Yes there is an anesthetic cream you can ask for up to that time you get your injection, it is on the whole for children but adults afraid of needle are treatment to ask for it too.......
You probably can, if you're very scared about it, you should ask earlier you go. You'll be mroe relaxed and confident.
Yes, they can use an anesthetic cream. However, it is scarcely worth the effort as the actual "pain" associated near the needle is much smaller quantity of a component of the overall sensation than the pressure caused when the nozzle goes within. So... even with the cream you will still discern it.

My advice: Phobia or no, forget the cream. Just look the other method and think almost something else.
Yes you can have them put a numming agent on it up to that time they draw blood but it really isn't that big of a deal. Why not ask your doc for meds to self-possessed you down before you hold to go for such things.
Yes nearby is something you can inject before you recieve the IV or the shot. It's call Lidocane, and it does numb the area, but most of the time it take more time to inject the Lidocane then it does to contribute the shot.

Some murses don't like to use Lidocane and others won't grant injections without it. But it never hurts to ask! Good luck I have the same problem until I be in nursing university, and gave other relatives shots. It helped me to see what someone else be going thur to get over it myself, but fitting luck!
