oxycontin and methadone are both slow release opiates. thus are conceivably safe but if you OD you sleep for longer (heroin or morphine is a shorter sleep - effects where on earth off quicker)
as far as smaller number dangerous doesn't really work that passageway... these options exist for long duration torment relief - oxycontin have less nausea and itching associated near it but that is different for everyone.
these are insecure drug as an OD puts you to sleep - thats why heroin users die - they stop breathing.
when used as directed both methadone and oxycontin are effective. i would singular recommend oxycontin as it does not have the social stigma of heroin addiction/rehab that methadone does.

Properly prescibed and taken as directed both are undamaging and does relieve the pain . If someone decide to take any drug not prescribed each is a precarious as TNT or Nitro Glycerin
