Can i do yoga with patellar tendonitis?

im going through physical therapy for patellar tendonitis in both legs (too much running on very flat feet)

could i do yoga without messing up my knees? thanks!

Answer:
I do not see why yoga would make it worse. Patellar tendinosis usually results from pounding type of work outs like running and jumping. Low impact activity like walking, biking, yoga etc should not cause your symptoms to worsen. My athletes love a topical analgesic called SOMBRA, it is like biofreeze but better. Put this on prior to yoga and then when you get back from yoga ice your knees for 15 to 20 min.
I hope this helps!
Most typically, it will not, but certain positions could potentially aggrevate it such as the "tree." Be sure to discuss any specific issues with your PT
