No you need a prescription for that type of stuff.
Lidocaine is about the only thing available in over the counter medications. Check the ingredient list on the package to find the highest % you can.
where will you use the anethesia? you can't really buy that without prescription. most of the anesthesia nowadays are injected. local anesthesia means the effect of the anesthesia is in the area of where it is being injected. if you're having tooth extraction, you're using local anesthesia. the other kind is general anesthesia where you're asleep during a procedure. most of these are surgery procedures.
Local anesthetics will not last long-an hour at the most and this is the one injected into the area. Topical anesthetics last even shorter.
