I accidently banged my wrists together hard yesterday?
Answer:
It takes some force to make a serious bruise, though the veins on your wrists may be quite near the surface.
Bruising is a result of blood escaping from an internal wound. Your blood has clotted to stop the bleeding (good) the area around the bruise will be sore for a while.
It is a bit late but get some ice in a bag and hold it to your wrists to try to reduce the swelling a little.
Perhaps you should get a smaller dog to play with?
how on earth does someone bang their wrists together??
it happened cos your wrists dont like it when you bang them together, so they tell you by hurting and swelling
The veins are really close to the surface of your skin and bones and tendons in the area of your wrist. You just got a hematoma, or a big bruise right under the skin. It looks awful and hurts because the blood and swelling in the area are pressing on nerves. Unless the pain is really bad, or the swelling gets worse, I wouldn't worry about it. I've had one on my wrist before, too. It just went away on it's own.
A dog bit me once and that same thing happened. Looks pretty weird.
I had bruising as well. If your bruise continues to spread you are still bleeding beneath the surface of your skin and you have to get it to stop. Treat it as an open cut, apply pressure, etc. If you can't get it to stop spreading, go see a doctor.
I am not sure what you were doing. but if you are now bruised you have burst a small capillary and bled under the skin, you may also have damaged a nerve in your wrist. it may take a few days to settle down if it does not go and see you doctor.
