Knee Surgery Recovery?

I had surgery on the 14, i had arthroscopic surgery on the left side of my left knee to do a lateral release and also they had to cut about a 5 inch incision on the other side of my knee for some ligament repair.

but my question is..Why would the little baby holes for the arthroscopic surgery hurt more than the large incision???

They are killing me! i had it checked out for infection and its fine. but why do they hurt so bad?

Answer:
they do A LOT of work in those incisions! more than you realize. you can keep icing it now too, for 20 min. at a time. also, you can massage the scars with neosporin or something like that too...it helps to reduce the scar tissue that's building up from the incisions and surgery you just went through. also, it helps with the scar healing as well! when you massage you can feel where the skin is tighter, so massage gently to help relieve it! if it continues call your doctor and ask!

hope i helped!
dunno smaller cuts usually hurt worse though. maybe because they ran scopes ans various instruments in those and stretched them a bit making them more sore
call your doctor in the morning
I had the same type of surgery a few months ago, they did all the work through these small holes, they don't make big ones anymore. At least my doctor doesn't.
You'd better call your doctor and tell him all the pain your in, you shouldn't be. Movement of course will cause some pain but, be careful.
The little holes hurt more because they cut a small hole, shoved in a large tube then stuck a camera or surgical instruments into the tube and moved them around. It won't hurt for to much longer, but at least you know.
