Is this all anxiety?

My doctor told me I have general anxiety disorder due to my dad's death last year, many family and financial problems..He said I put too much pressure on myself and I'm only 17..
But my physical symptoms are just too crazy to ignore@
I have: muscle twitches/jerks esp when trying to sleep, headaches, nonsense/racing thoughts, sometimes not finding the right words to say or making mistakes when speaking, blurred vision, throbbing head, dizziness/unsteadiness...
This anxiety is crazy..I mean sometimes I do feel like something bad will happen, or scared for no reason..But I think this is a much more serious issue..I either really have a brain tumor or soemthing && these are seizure symptoms OR I'm going insane...HELP PlZ!! =(

Answer:
Sorry to hear about your problems. Yes, I agree with your doctor...sounds like anxiety to me. I used to get it, too, along with panic attacks (hard to breathe, start hyperventilating).

I would ask your doctor if you can be prescribed some antidepressants and get a referral to a psychologist to talk to about your father's death. Death of a parent is devastating to anybody, but more so to a teenager or small child.

You don't say if you are the only child in the family or how your mother is handling all of the issues at play. It could be that your entire family may benefit from counseling as well.

First, take care of yourself. Talk with your doctor about what you want done to help you with your anxiety. Don't be afraid of taking antidepressants. There are many on the market and if one doesn't work, there's always another to try. If you ever feel that you want to hurt yourself, please don't!! Call a friend to talk about what you are feeling, okay??

Remember, your father loved you very much and would want you to enjoy your life, not stress out over something you did not have control over (his death and your family's financial problems).

Take care of yourself.
Yes, you are having anxiety attacks my daugther had them really bad. they are similar to strokes. you can get medication but it's best just to wait it out and try to relax. I hope that helps.
I used to get anxiety and it was really bad. but you need to go with your gut instinct if you think there is somthing more wrong you should get a second opinion... sorry about the loss of your father..
The best suggestion I have for you it to read up on EFT (emotional freedom techiniques). It will change your life if you begin to do it. It is really simple & there is a free book you can download to help you learn how to do it. I was doing it on my own just from reading the book, but then I began working w/ a therapist & he helps me to it now. It really is amazing.
Also, try prayer- it is a form of meditation & can help you focus & stay in the moment. Remember, stress lives in the past & the future, not in the moment. Just breath to stay in the moment.
Good luck
Try to relax and don't think too much. Don't take too much medication unless necessary. Try taking some time off at the park or some forest where there is a calm and refreshing atmosphere. Try yoga too. It can help you relax.
Hi! Sorry to hear about your problems! I know how you feel. I used to get anxiety and panic attacks at your age, but they disappeared after doing the following:

1. Breathing properly will control your panic. As soon as you notice the signs of anxiety, check your breathing: breathe in slowly through your nose pushing your tummy out (to the count of 5 or so). Breathe out slowly and for a bit longer (to the count of 7 or so) through your mouth. Do not breathe rapidly or shallowly (in the chest area). This will soon restore the balance of oxygen and you will feel a lot better. Once you start practising, it’ll become second nature.

2.Also I would really advise a course of Cognitive Behavioural therapy. CBT is proven to be the most effective thing for panic attacks and anxiety (and social phobias, which it sounds you might have). It takes a bit of work, but if you put the effort in it’s super effective. You can speak to your doctor about doing a course, or you can take a course for free online at: http://www.livinglifetothefull.com/elear... I recommend you start this today.

3. I also do relaxation exercise tapes (progressive muscular relaxation). They really help if you practise often enough. This site has instructions on how to do it without the tapes (and other useful info): http://www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/resource...

I hope you start feeling better soon.
