My father, 74, has been diagnosed with scoliosis. Any suggestions for reducing pain, on mid section?

After four years enduring pain on his side and several procedures including exploratory colon surgery, colonoscopies and treatment for depression (all misdiagnosis) we hope we have found the cause of pain on my father`s right side. The latest is scoliosis. My question is what things should we keep in mind in order to reduce pain? He is not overweight (actually he`s lost about 15 pounds because of all of this) and has walked for exercise most of his life. About 10 years ago he underwent a quadruple bypass and previously had preventive prostate surgery. Currently he is involved in professional and social activities (meetings, some traveling etc) because he refuses to retire.
Thanks for your help.

Answer:
Regular massage and magnetic insoles will help control some of the pain.
