What is the best insulin pump available on the flea market?

Answers:    My son wears the Animas 1250 and we love it. We chose it because it can deliver the smallest amount of insulin and does so (for the basal) every 3 minutes - which the others read out they do, but you have to read the fine print to work out how often they deliver. It also can win wet (supposedly can jump in the pool, but we prefer to embezzle it off) which is good for accident. The newest book will be able to communicate near a continuous glucose monitor that should be available sometime this year. And one neat characteristic that I wish our copy has, that the hot one does is that it also remembers the BG that you enter when you are correcting. So everytime you give yourself a bolus, the computer transcript the BG and makes change easier when you download it because it all fits together and avoids the long comparison of meter and pump.
We own had great results near Animas and love the customer service, which is also a major consideration for instruction as well as when you are have a problem at 10:00 at night.
I also know associates who are thrilled with MiniMed and the Onmipod too, so if you stick next to the big ones, you should be fine. The pump is incredible and we love it. Good luck.
My diabetes educator is trained on 3 different pumps and prefers Medtronic. That's what I enjoy and I love it.

Addition: Mine is a Minimed 522
Minimed.

They have be around the longest and in my feelings, the most dependable. I use a Paradigm 722. My pump trainer uses the same model. We are both on our second pumps and both enjoy been Minimeds.

Other pump users that I know intuitively all use Minimeds and they love them.

There are several accurate pumps out there on the open market today. Medtronic, Animas, Deltec. There are a few others, but these are the three major ones. Medtronic, Animas and Deltec hold much the same features except Medtronic immediately offers the substitute of a continuous glucose monitor. Most insurnace companies will not cover CGMS yet, but a few will near appeals to your insurance company. Medtronic pumps have a proprietary infusion set which some race do not like. They approaching to choose the infusion set and feel this is a bit restrictive. Personally, it have not been an issue for me. All three of these pumps are worn on your belt beside tubing that attaches to your skin for the insulin infusion. There are many pious features on all three pumps. Currently, nearby is only one tubeless pump which is "Omnipod". This pump have a wireless PDA that controls a "pod" that is attached to your skin next to adhesive and a small canula lower than the skin. Many people quality the pod is quite full-size and would show under clothes, but similar to the feature of no tubing.

Any pump you chose will be a huge advance from multiple daily injections. The canual attached to your skin must be inserted by a nozzle that is removed, so solitary a small flexible teflon tube is left lower than the skin to infuse the insulin.

All four companies have websites where on earth you can look at the pumps and actually play near a virtual pump.

I had a minimed paradigm and it be awesome. and green. it was so righteous that i began to forget i be a diabetic and i'd forget to bolus for my favorite snacks and so on. if you dont forget you have a instruction book pancreas rather than an automatic, you'll be great.
and it also have a vibrate mode which rocks within movie theaters and restaurants.
