What cause sudden swelling and increased heart rate and blood pressure?

I was cutting my grass today. It was around eighty degrees. I had been out there for almost a hour. Suddenly my heart beat faster and I felt swelling on the side of my face, right below my ear lobe. There was a small lump for a few seconds and it was hard. But it went away within 15 seconds. What this heat stroke, lymph node problem or symptom of a heart attack?

Answer:
Really tough to tell. It sounds like heat exhaustion or dehydration (the sweating and heartbeat). I've never heard of a lump that only appears for a few seconds. Generally the lymph system doesn't fluctuate that quickly. With heat stroke, you would have felt a very definite weakness on one side of the body, with possibly slurring and very marked delay in reaction. Suffice to say that if it came and went without treatment that it was not a major situation.
If you look up TIAs (transient ischemic strokes) those can come and go quickly without (sometimes) leaving any serious after effects. If you have any further chest pain, jaw pain, numbness in the left arm, weakness, confusion, slurred speak or any other symptom again, definitely get to an ER. Better to be safe than sorry. Chances are, it could have been heat exhaustion and the lump could have been unrelated to the sweating and increased heart rate.
Always drink plenty of water before, during and after doing anything physical in warm weather and be sure to take a break once in a while to avoid further problems in the future.
Nothing to do with mowing the lawn it was tension.
