Why do my legs itch all the time??

I've always been lucky with the type of legs I have with shaving. I never really broke out on my legs or got any irritation. Recently, though, my legs always seem to itch. They itch in between shaving and sometimes I can't shave them because they hurt to shave. They especially itch when I'm laying in my bed. I use plenty of lotion and use a shaving cream that's supposedly good for sensitive skin. It's getting annoying because I have to shave like every 2 days now and I leave nasty itch marks from itchy so much. Please help!!

Answer:
if it were laundry soap, your whole body would itch. My guess is that its from the hair growing back in. You know of course that the hair has to "break" thru the skin when it grows and that would cause you to itch. I doubt if you have scabies. that doesnt sound like scabies to me, but then again i'm not a professional.
Yeah you have scabies, trust me i had it on my legs, little tiny bugs underneath your skin that make them itch, no other possible reason for that trust me, go see a doctor so they can cut a piece of skin off and see how bad its infected so they can further treat it.
i believe that u might be using razors that arent good for your skin or even using something that ur legs might be allergic to or u could be developing a skin rash of some sort
You could be developing a rash from eczema. This happened to me. I was able to control the itching with hydrocortizone cream. But it won't truly go away until you see your dermatologist. Good Luck.
Dry skin usually causes itching problems, but since you use lotion, that wouldn't seem to be the problem. I'm going to guess that this problem is possibly from the wrong kind of lotion or shaving cream, Or, mabye you shave too often. Perhaps if you ask a physician what type of lotion to use to treat your legs, and then make sure that you just keep shaving out of your regular schedual for a week or two. If this still isn't working, talk to a doctor what the problem is. There might be something wrong that your not looking far enough into.
my legs itch a lot around this time of year too... Its also the time of year when people's feet peel. It might be the weather change...

Scabies is also a possibility, but you would have it all over your body within days, so I doubt it (i had it so many times, its not fun)...

I recommend washing your entire bed (sheets, pillowcases, blankets) and using lotion a lot.

*adding details* you dont need to have the doc cut your leg to determine how bad scabies is unless you let it go for months. but only a crazy person would do that.
Have you changed soap or laundry detergent lately? That could be your problem. This really sounds like some kind of allergic reaction. Take some benadryl and see if that helps. Another thing that makes itchy legs is if you have any kind of liver inflammation and it sends billiruben (spelled wrong Im sure) to the surface of your skin and is very itchy. Try hard not to scratch and see if it goes away. Good luck.
My legs are really itchy to I think its the weather I use the Palmer's cocoa butter formula with vitamin e it relieves dry skin you can get a sample from the chemist put it on after your shower at night and in the morning and stop shaving for a week as you could be shaving off your goose bumps and use a new razor if the one your using is blunt or rusty that will also make you itch.
