I think I have food poisoning. What should I do?

Okay, so I was feeling great allll day yesterday, when out of nowhere at around midnight, I started feeling sick to my stomach. I just passed it off at first but it got worse. and this morning at 3 AM I got up and had to puke, and then at 6 AM I had to throw up again. and now as I'm typing this, I feel the urge to throw up again.
What can I do to make the sickness go away?

Answer:
drink lots of fluids and go to the restroom as many times as you can
SEE A DOCTOR!
Let it passed and be sure to drink a lot of fluids (gatorade or pedialyte).
drink plenty of fluids it will have to pass on its own and if you start running an extremely high fever that wont go down or vommit blood or have it in your stool then you need to go to the ER, try small sips of water or chipped ice not ice cubes, you could choke intead of guloing down water this will upset your tummy even worse and when you think your tummy is ready for a cracker try 1 cracker and see if you can hold that down, take care and good luck in your recovery
and you decided and gave yourself 'food poisoning' as a diagnosis when? You're a doctor? It could be ANYTHING! GO to a doctor if you keep on spewin, or if things get worse or symptoms keep growing. If you have food poisoning, your mouth wont be the only hole spewing. Keep drinking heaps of water and hydration drinks.
I had food poisoning to the extreme. I was put in the hospital because I was dehydrated. If you continue to vomit, call or go to your doctor. There is nothing they can do, except let it run the course, however if you get dehydrated, that can be very serious. Also if you have lot of pain which I did, they gave me pain medication they use on cancer patients due to the extreme pain I had.

Good luck .
What did you eat yesterday? Food poisoning is potentially fatal illness, or leave you with damaged liver, kidneys, even brain damage, depending on what bug was in the food. If you vomit for more than six hours and can't keep water down, you run the risk of dehydration. Go to the hospital with a bucket, and hopefully the triage nurse will get you in quickly, where they will put you on a drip, administer maxolon or stemazine for the vomiting, and take some blood for pathology to determine if it is e-coli, lister or any of about 11 pathogens common to food poisoning. The nurse will ask you how long you have been vomiting, what amount of liquid have you been able to keep down, and what you have eaten in the last 48 hours (some of the bugs take 2-3 days to present, others as little as 20 mins). The time factor will help identify what you have. .
Assuming you are an otherwise healthy person, this may sound strange, but if you truly think it is food poisoning, you are better off letting it run it's course. Puking and diarrhea are the body's way of getting the bad bacteria out of your body as fast as possible...and this is a good thing. Now if you have other health problems, then that's another story and you need to consult with your doctor. Also if the problem persists more than 24-hours, you need to consult with your doctor. In the meantime, just try to stay hydrated with water, broth, noncaffeinated weak tea, flat 7-up/Sprite/ginger ale.

Hope you are feeling better soon.
