I have what is called scratchy throat asthma, anyone else have it, any suggestions to help keep the cough down
Answer:
My daughter gets an asthmatic cough when she's sick. Sounds like exactly the cough you're describing. When her cough gets really bad, instead of just using the inhaler, I put her on a nebulizer. She gets capsules of both Albuterol and Pulmicort for the nebulizer and I'll give her one breathing session of each. It makes her jittery for a bit, but it seems to help calm the cough. Hope this helps. I know how absolutely frustrating this cough can be- good luck!!
I do not believe that "scratchy throat asthma" is a diagnosis.
Propel sport water works pretty well. I don’t have asthma but that seems to work. Also, it could be from going to bed at a late time like 11pm or later (b/c I get a soar throat when I go to bed late for a couple days).
Gargle with salt water. Just put a teaspoon of salt in one-half glass of water (cold or warm); I use cold water. Stir the salt in well. Use a small amount of mixture to gargle - repeat this 2 or 3 times and the tickle should stop. (At times, I have sprinkled salt into my hand from salt shaker and "eaten" it, followed by some water - but only when the "tickle" is at its' worst!)
