Distendend Gallbladder?
Any ideas on what to do? I've read online that it could be stones causing all this.very confusing!
Answer:
u didnt say what type of cancer ur mom hav, gallbladder distention can be a result of bile duct blockage and not just because of gallstone, it could be a tumor pressure on the bile duct. bright green or bile emesis, can happen with continued vomitting, that color denotes the ability of the bile duct to still spill bile from the gallbladder. she should have prescription for nausea, like zofran, anzemet or phenergan, and even small dose of ativan can help.if her vomitting persists in spite of medications she should be seen by her oncologist. take care.
distended means it sticks out. it's probably swollen or something. in a healthy person, (cancer free), they would probably remove it. but her body can't handle the stress of surgery due to her cancer, (if she is on chemo, i assume she has some form of cancer).
have ya'll discussed why she is on chemo? chemo therapy makes you very ill. the idea is, make the body so sick even the cnacer dies. under normal circumstances, gall blagger surgery is stupid simple. but, it could be quite difficult for a cancer patient on chemo. AND het gall bladder issues are not life threatening. sure, it's uncomfortable on her, but that has to take a back seat priority to her cancer treatments beacause cancer is life threatening.
trust her doctors. comfort her, and if need be pose this very same question to her doctors. my thoughts go out to you and your mom! god bless you and yours!
