with little effect. They only product that seems to work is benadryl, and the effects are mild. Is there anything else I can try to help clear this up?
Answer:
I think what you have is allergies!
Go to the doctor and explain to him all your symptoms... It happened to me last year and they had to give me a Cortizone shot. (i think that's the way it's spelled). Of course I went to the doctor after being sick for almost 2 months - after taking all the medications you listed above.
The next day I was breathing and didn't feel bad anymore.
Go to your doctor and stop taking out of the counter medicines
pepto bismol and i suggest the cherry pepto because its more tasty
If you are congested and not having any drainage; I suggest not to take Benadryl. Benadryl is an antihistamine, and may dry out secretions-leading to further congestion. If you have a combination of congestion and drainage, I suggest Claritin-D. It has a different decongestant (pseudoephedrine) which may be helpful, and the antihistamine part is not drowsy. Another product to try is Mucinex D. This product is a long acting decongestant which also contains an expectorant (which thins the secretions). If these don't help; you may have allergies, which could develop into a sinus infection. Going to the doctor and getting an intranasal steroid (Flonase, Nasacort) will provide much relief.
Hope you feel better soon!
