Question Details:i'm pregnant 26 weeks, got Td immunissaion on thursday, next day my upper arm pain, hard to move, got fever, call clinic they said its normal coz Td not dangerous, just put cold compress on the side at mid day i call back the clinic another person answer and give same suggestion, but i told her i cant stand no more, finally she said come to see doctor. doctor give me amoxylin antibiotic 250 mg 3 times daily and tylenol 2 times daily. he said come back on monday. on saturday my upper arm become red and more painful, still got fever, today more red spot area and no fever this morning, any experience? any suggestion what should i do i can wait till tommorow, does any one help me i'm so scared, should the clinic responsible with this? please serious answer which can give a solution only, thnx so uch for help and respond

Firstly: Follow your Doctor's advise and return for an evaluation.
It sounds as though you had a painfull reaction but this in itself doesn't prove that this process was "an infection"...What you experienced is the primary adverse effect from a Tetanus/Diphtheria vaccination (and many others). It could be possible that the needle tracked in alcohol ( an irritant) that is used to prep the skin or some of the vaccine that is intended to be "intra-muscular leaked into tissue under the skin and caused a reaction.
Unless You could prove some negligence or gross misadministration of the vaccination ( i.e. by untrained personnel: a known contamination of the needle : use of outdated vaccine:) you chances of being successful, in a suit, are zero to none. I would, however, be cautious about receiving it again ( good for 5-10 years coverage);. Always ask the staff person to allow the alcohol to dry before giving the vaccination and request that it be given in the front of your thigh or high up on your buttock.
