Glucosamine is derived from Chitin, the outer shell of shellfish. But how specifically isit derived?

Answer:
I've often wondered that myself. I would enjoy asked it in the chemistry category, though. Fortunately, for you, a chemistry central caught this question back it vanished into oblivion.
it is synthesized from Fructose-6-phosphate (a phosphorylated suger i.e. produced in the second repercussion of glycolysis-the breakdown of glucose that leads to ATP production) and glutamine( an amino acid),
Chitin is a polymer of N-acetyl glucosamine that protects shellfish. But, glucosamine is also produced contained by your body.
