Why do doctors think they can't treat you without family history?

i want to see a doctor for my own body not what about my family ailments.

Answer:
Family history serves as a short cut sometimes for the doctor. For example: if heart problems are common in your family, then your doctor will focus strongly in those areas for problems.
.Family history has a great bearing on your own health predisposition and how to manage it. e.g, diabetes, heart problems, breast and other cancers.
Family history gives doctors some clues into what might be causing your illness. If some one in your family died of a heart attack before the age of 55 and you come in at 45 with chest pain you are more likely to be having a heart attack than some one with out a family member with that history if all other things are equal.
