My daughter who is 10 has been passing a very long stool when going to the toilet why is this?

as a mother i am a little worried about her health

Answer:
GREETINGS, I wouldn't be worried unless she has blood or some other color or pain with it. Sometimes the foods we eat make us excrete more than usual. If she's eating alot of fruits/veggies and drinking more with summer, that could be why. It's healthy to flush things out so since she is excreting alot that is good.
well different people have different stools if you're worried take her to the doctor
A stool whether long or short is just digested food waste. It is okay as long as it looks normal in colour and composition then her digestive system is working healthily.
If she is not suffering and looks otherwise healthy than there is nothing to worry about as her body is ridding of the wastes it needs to.
As Shrek always says "better out than in!"
Swap it for a chair if it'd look better.

Sorry, couldn't resist. If you are worried, see a doctor or ring the NHS helpline (if you're a Brit).
give her elax, does that help you
It sounds like she is healthy, the more you poop the better. Unless there is blood in her stool, or she is in allot of pain I would not worry! But hey from the sounds of it, it seems like you feed her a very healthy diet!
omg i love those ones! it does seem like a had a bunch more when i was younger! dont worry about it at all.
As long as she is suffering from no pain or discomfort, the stool is firm and formed she is fine. Has she eaten more than she usually does? if so this could just be part of a growth spurt she is having.
Well done for being a concerned and attentive Mother, there is not enough of us left.
I think her system is working just fine ,,I would worry if she was constipated all the time,,, I would keep an eye on her when she gets her period,,,if she is spotting ,,or has problems its good to find out now because It be a sign of big problems later on in life
Sounds like she's a little constipated. Give children's laxative and follow with good old oats in the morning for breakfast, maybe a couple prunes thrown in for taste. If blood in stool, take her to the doctor. I wouldn't worry too much. lol.
Hi to another concerned Mum! Seriously, I would listen to the vast majority of the answers already posted - it just sounds as though your daughter is having a very healthy diet and ridding her body of all the waste. As others have said, unless there are other signs (odd colour/too hard/too soft etc), I would just congratulate yourself! If you're still worried, consult NHS direct (if in England?)
