How to get rid of in- grown toe nails? It hurts..?

I had to go for 3 operations altogether to get rid of that. It occured on the thumb toe. First on the left then on the right then it came back on the left again. That was a few years ago and now it is showing sings of hurt again.

Answer:
The best way I have been told is to use a pair of tweezers and use a small amount of cotton wool and wedge it under the corner of the toenail it hurts but it 'guides' the toenail and 'trains' it not to grow inward
I hope I explained this in enough detail
Just keep hooking the end of the nail where it starts to grow into the skin out. May be twice a day. Don't cut them so short. Cut your nails straight across.
If you had a Doctor to remove it, it shouldn't have came back. Have him to remove it again at no charge.
