That really depends on the child. With my son(he was immensely active) it seemed to hold the opposite effect, as within the daytime meds made him sleepy and the night time would keep hold of him awake.

Most will become drowsy but for some it has the different effect. The best way to know for sure is to pass him some before the outing when you can afford for him to be any drowsy or hyper.
The same goes for caffeine. Children beside ADHD will actually be calmed and sometimes put to sleep near caffeine.
Like everyone else said it depends on the child. My son it don't do anything to him just help with his allergies. But some kids it knock them out and some makes them hyper. I am not sure when you make a contribution it to him or if you could wait until dark time that would help. I basically give my son his when he requirements them.
They make one to be precise non-drowsy.
It depend, I have 2 kids and my oldest get hyper and aggitated and my youngest gets severely sleepy. Depends on your tolerance to meds.
