Is there a cure for dyspraxia and aspergus syndrome?

my 7 year old son had just been diagnosed with dyspraxia and they think he has aspergus syndrome aswell. can anyone tell me if there is a cure as such for either of these conditions as at the moment i am finding things very difficult .

Answer:
Asperger's describes the way that your son interacts with the world, and no, your son will never be "neurotypical." I wouldn't focus so much on the label, but on what your son needs from his family, his school, and his environment to be successful.

Your son may find socialization therapy useful.

Dyspraxia can be treated with therapy, and your son can improve his function in that regard.

Check out websites like http://www.aspergers.com/ and look in your phone book for a specialist. We found one, and it changed our daughter's life.

Good luck to both of you.
I am not familiar with dyspraxia, but I have Asperger's Syndrome, as do my children and two of my grandchildren. I do not consider it a disease, and have never led my children and grandchildren to believe there is something terribly wrong with them. We are all high achievers. I have designed and built an award-winning home (with no architectural training), one child is pursuing a science career, and the grandchildren are in "gifted" programs in their respective high schools.

Believe me, the last thing we all want to be is "cured". We are not "sick" or "mentally ill", our brains are just wired differently.

We are not emotionally driven, or faith driven, and rely mainly on logic throughout our lives. We are uncomfortable with emotions, probably because we find them difficult to control.. We are ideally suited to the sciences, and the business world (but we are smart enough to stay away from public relations, for obvious reasons).

Please try to see your child's potential, and encourage him to excel.

By the way, I am told Asperger's is hereditary and, based on my family, that certainly appears to be true.
I have been their but, not with same diagnosis! i have a 20 yr old son w/ the brain of a 1-3 month old:( I really do not think their is a cure, try a second opinion & wishing you both the very bes of LUCK:) P.S. my son has lennox-gastut sydrome and it seemed to happen withe the DPT shot & being misdiagnoised:(
