If I tone my muscles everyday, is that still overtraining?
Answer:
You need a day or more of rest. When you train, your muscles break down, therefore you need a rest period for your muscles to recuperate. When your muscle tissues rebuild, they regenerate more muscle tissue than you previously had--therefore you'll get stronger and have more toned muscle! That's why you need a time (like a day or two) were your muscles aren't training and are just rebuilding, making you get more muscle mass=toned. But keep up the good work and I hope you reach you goal--especially on those triceps! <3
slow it down! you will get yourself burned out of that if you dont take rest days!!
I know that ur muscles need to relax, bc if u dont its not going to be any good. ( Now I believe that u do need to relax bc ur muscles stay contracted a certain way the whole time, which might not be working everytime) just relax and do it every other day!
To answer your question. Not really.
Resistance is a little different than weight training.
Ideally you should take rest days because your body needs recuperation time.
But I don't think that you are doing a lot of sets. I think you just keep going until you feel fatigue than stop.
If so than you are not over training.
If you are doing ten sets of a hundred reps than you are over training.
If you are exercising until your muscles are hurting, especially if they're hurting the next day, then yes you are overtraining by doing it everyday. Each time you exercise your muscles are torn. Next time you eat a piece of chicken pay attention to how it looks. It is composed of many different fibers. This is how your muscle looks and each time that you tear these fibers, they must be rebuilt. This is how muscles grow...tear, rebuild, tear, rebuild, and so on. The muscles need a day of rest to do this rebuilding. If you interrupt this cycle, then your muscles aren't able to rebuild as they should and all of the work that your doing isn't paying off nearly as much as it could. Maybe you could use the resistance band to exercise your legs one day and then arms the next. Or you could focus on abs one day and then arms. You can do something like that so that you can still workout everyday. Good luck!
