Burning calories?

Ive been told to cut calories and work out so lets say i consume 1500 Calories. how am i supposed to burn that 1500?

Answer:
You don't burn all 1500 calories in one exercise session. It doesn't work that way, and would be unhealthy if you even tried. The trick is that, if you consumte 1500 calores, and 1500 calories is what it takes to maintain your body's current needs, then you would need to find an activity that burns about (for example) 300 calories in that same time period in order to begin to achieve a healthy weight loss.
by dancing, running, riding a bike, even cleaning your rooom! Basically you gotta keep moving, and exert a ton of energy, swimming, all of that good stuff, plus eat well, fruits veggies, those are low in fat and are better and less fattening than chips and fries
You already burn calories in your everyday activities, from sleeping to cooking to working.

You eat to sustain a healthy body and replace what you have lost. This is why it is important to have healthy eating habits.

If you are going to the gym, do an hour of high intensity aerobics, such as a Spin class, and lift weights for 30 minutes.
Just breathing you burn calories. As your body goes through normal function you burn calories. Also if are working out,you will have no problem burning them off.
Well, people tend to burn around 900+ calories a day depending on how much muscle you have, and how much you move around during the day. So, you'd be fine if you worked out 20 minutes to an hour a day.
You probably burn about half of that just sitting. It's called you BMR or basic metabolic rate. Add to that a well balanced diet of about 1500 calories and you should be successful. If you are losing too much- more than 2 pounds a week, bump your caloric intake up to 1600 etc. Remember the key is to eat proteins, fats and carbohydrates to be in balance.
You burn a certain number of calories everyday without exercise. exercise just burns more. to find out how many calories you burn daily go here:

That isn't how it works, actually.

The body HAS to have calories to survive, thats why we eat. If someone told you to eat 1500 calories in order to lose weight, then just eat the 1500 and you WILL lose weight, as long as your body needs more than 1500 calories to sustain that weight. Does that make sense?

To put it simply, I am a 23-year old male, who weighs 155 and works out on a regualr basis. If I were to lie in bed all day, and not move, my body would need about 1800 calories to maintain my current weight. If I exercised and burned 500 calories, I could then consume 2300 on the day and still maintain my weight, because it is all relative.

My suggestion is to go to a site such as nutritiondata.com and figure out how many calories you need, then cut 300-to-1000 from that total in a day, with exercise (say you need 1800, eat 1800 and work out for 45 minutes/400 calories. Total daily calories=1400)

Hope this helps!
