both will gain muscle. high reps build big muscles. low reps buld strength. check out the differnce between bodbuilders(high reps) and powerlifters(low reps). you see right away the differnce.
That is infirm thought. You will gain muscle but not quality muscle and you risk hurting yourself more beside low reps and high weightiness.
The current thought is repeated muscle failure and explosive strength training. It will gross your muscles more defined, harder and with more strength. And it is smaller amount stressful on your joints, ligaments and tendons.
What you want to do is start small. Try conceivably 90 pounds, or whatever you cofortable near, on a bench press. Do 3 sets of 10. Keep a journal that say how easy or strong grading it a 1-10. Make sure you dont do more than the amount of reps you started near. Once you've gotten it to a 10(being the easiest) add perchance 5 or 10 pounds and start again. Work your way up to the greater weights. You don't want to hurt yourself.
It gains muscle mass and a bit strength. People who lift greatly of weight for a moment will get bigger, but not necessarily stronger. High reps and low shipment increases tone, strength, and endurance.
